August Programming

Teens: join us for the afternoon on August 17th, with Teen Video Gaming at 2:00 pm. Wish there was more to do? Stop in early at 1:30 and help plan teen programs with the Teen Board, and then join us on August 18th for Dungeons & Dragons!

We also have a special Family Movie Day showing of Oz: The Great and Powerful this month, starting at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 24th.

The Anime and Japanese Culture Club meets at 11:00 am on Friday, August 2nd and 9th, and concludes for the summer with a mini-Obon Festival on Friday, August 16th. Following the festival, the AJCC breaks for the remainder of August, and resumes with our regular schedule starting Saturday, September 14th, meeting every other week after. 

The best part? These are all free monthly events!

Young Adult Readers Advisory

Anime & Japanese Culture Club

The AJCC is an open club for any and all fans of anime and manga, as well as any other facet of Japanese culture. Currently featuring an ever growing schedule of anime viewing, manga discussion, mini-manga drawing workshops, food festivities, cosplay, anime movie marathons, and celebrations of Japanese culture, the club encourages fans both new and old to enjoy themselves alongside fellow fans. July 12, 19,  & 26, 11:00 AM, Anime Society – The Spencer Public Library Anime Society will meet in the Spencer Public Library round room. Come and explore Japanese culture. Free and open to all ages. For more information call 580-7290.

  

July 18, 2:00 PM, Tweens and Teens Summer Reading Program, “T-Shirt Decorating”  – Join other tweens and teens and design your own t-shirt to keep and wear. Free! For more information call 580-7290.

July 25, 2:00 PM, Tweens and Teens Summer Reading Program, “Steampunk Party” – Tweens and Teens your invited to a tea party with an out-of-this-world steampunk twist. Free! For more information call 580-7290.
